Brief description on how you expect your character to start out: Aboard Jenova's ship.


History:
Kadaj's origins are predominantly vague, but he is rumoured to be either one of the three remnants that Sephiroth left behind after he was first defeated, or a clone created by Professor Hojo along with his 'brothers', Loz and Yazoo. Kadaj's noteriety began in the Northern Crater. With his two brothers, he kidnapped and tortured the Turks that arrived, though one managed to escape this with Jenova's remains. He, Loz and Yazoo followed the remains to Edge, a city formed just around Midgar, where they devastated the peace in search for her. Kadaj tormented President Rufus Shinra who was being ravaged by Geostigma, a terminal disease caused by his mother, and he and his brothers gathered the orphans suffering Geostigma from within Edge, took them to the lost capital of Ajit and gave them dark water, which turned them into automatons to serve Jenova.
After failing to kill Cloud when he was lured to Ajit to save the children, Kadaj returned to Edge and summoned Bahamut SIN to ravage the city, looking for Jenova's remains in a statue constructed by Shinra. The summon was defeated, but Kadaj obtained Jenova's cells after Rufus dropped them from a building. He was pursued by Cloud to the Midgar ruins, where they fought. Cloud failed to keep Kadaj away from his mother's remains; though Rufus had successfully shot through the box containing Jenova, there was enough retained for him to absorb her and transform into Sephiroth. The fight with Cloud continued, and Cloud was defeated. It was at this point that the mysterious silver ships arrived.
With his primary duty to Jenova complete and Nii having reconstructed her body, Jenova severed the connection between Sephiroth, Kadaj, and herself, splitting them once again into three seperate and complete entities. Kadaj remains a puppet to his mother, though his grandest duty is done. Fulfilling smaller, lesser purposes and with the presence of his mother now a physical reality, he is trying to come to terms with his place in her current schemes.


Personality: True to his origins, Kadaj is a complete personification of Sephiroth's crueller, childish nature. He is a little manic and delusional: though Jenova is now contained in a physical form, he still gets 'twinges' of her voice and her emotions from time to time, an echo from before his brief time as her host. The voice has an apparent tendency to try and twist his more independent or troublesome thoughts to go in a specific direction - what mother would want him thinking.
Though typically calm and somewhat amused when he is in control of the situation, he suffers violent mood swings, and his temper is extremely short. Although his judgement is often impaired by his out-of-control emotions, he also channels it into his ferocity, making him a more formidable opponent if provoked.
He is particularly vicious towards members of his family he deems traitors - those with Geostigma or Jenova Cells who don't serve his mother wholeheartedly, or fail to satisfy her standards. It partially derives from his own insecurities and jealousies. He has a severe inferiority complex, and lives with the constant knowledge that he is not, nor will he ever be the one thing he desires most to be, which is his mother's favourite son. As a result, he harbours a thinly-disguised jealousy for his 'eldest brother' and mother's favourite, Sephiroth, and has stated in the past that he is infuriated by him.
Aside, there is part of him that is somewhat melancholic and restless in his servitude, which is perhaps the only emotion he finds shame in and works to conceal. He presently struggles with whether he should comply and adhere to his mother's desires, or try and gain a degree of independence; that his indecision lingers even with the voice in his mind is an indication of how strong his repressed desire for freedom is.


Appearance:



Kadaj is a little on the short side and his build is lithe but also defined by muscle, not unlike a young gymnast. His skin is fair, his hair silver and cut like a jagged translucent curtain over his right eye (our left). It all feathers a little past the nape of his neck. His eyes are a bright mako green, with slit pupils. He wears a black leather outfit.


Abilities: Kadaj is able to absorb materia into his arms and use it there. His physical strength means he's also somewhat known for his speed and grace; his movements are fluid, and they are his main asset over strength in battle. He is ambidextrous, but favours his left hand. He can wield sword-like weaponry, and favours a double-bladed katana he calls Souba.
